Berta Moreno is a Grammy-Nominated jazz saxophonist and composer from Spain dedicated to fostering positivity and human connection through music. Critics often define her as "a thoughtful and precise soloist who knows how to choose meaningful notes with emotional content" (All About Jazz); "Driven and Determined" (Downbeat Magazine); and "a storyteller" (WBGO).

She stands out for an original, genre-defying repertoire that blends contemporary jazz, soul, Latin, and Spanish folklore. Her saxophone captivates audiences of all kinds with stories bathed in passion, energy, honesty, and spontaneity.

Her work has been widely recognized by the international press. Her first album, "Little Steps, " was awarded by the Global Music Awards in the United States. Her latest album, "Tumaini, " was chosen as one of the 20 best of 2021 by NPR Alt Latino in the US. With an extensive international presence, she has performed on stages around the world, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Jazzaldia Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Birdland, JazzMobile, Canarias Jazz & Mas Festival, and the Tito Puente Latin Jazz Festival, among others.

She has shared the stage with renowned musicians such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Regina Carter, Joe Lovano, John Patitucci, Pedrito Martínez, Jon Faddis, Steve Wilson, Hamilton de Holanda, MC Lyte, and Dayme Arocena.

Berta is part of the legendary, multi-Grammy Award-winning "Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, " directed by Arturo O'Farrill, performing weekly at the Pocket Jazz Club in New York and touring internationally. She is currently writing new music for a new project and album supported by Chamber Music America and New Music USA grants.
